As a solo female traveler, finding restaurants that welcome solo diners and have delicious food add to the experience! In this blog, I’ll take you through one of my favorite spots Daily Beer in Seoul.
This beloved local haunt serves up the iconic Korean duo—crispy fried chicken and ice-cold beer—in a way that embodies the city’s unique food culture.
Why Daily Beer Seoul is a Must Visit
Daily Beer isn’t just another restaurant in Seoul; it’s a gathering place where locals and travelers alike come together to enjoy good food and even better company.
Situated in a lively neighborhood, the open-air setup of Daily Beer allows you to soak in the city’s vibrant atmosphere while indulging in some of the best Korean fried chicken you’ll ever taste.
Located all around the city, you can find one of the locations in most neighborhoods!
Why Korean Fried Chicken?
Let’s dive into the real star of the show—Korean fried chicken. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re in for a treat. The chicken here is double-fried, which gives it an ultra-crispy exterior while keeping the meat inside juicy and flavorful.
Unlike Western fried chicken, the sauces in Korean versions vary from sweet and tangy to spicy and savory.
Pair it with a refreshing beer, and you’ve got a meal that’s not only satisfying but also perfect for those traveling solo.
Pro Tip: The portions are not meant for solo travelers. Korean fried chicken is best shared, drink up and make new friends! (or take it to go – I mean who doesn’t love Fried Chicken for breakfast – assuming you have a fridge to keep it cool overnight)
Solo Female Travel Tip: If you’re new to the city, this is a great place to dip your toes into Seoul’s food scene. It is as close to Western food without being Western.
Yes there is radish on the table but fried chicken is universal food so it shouldn’t be too far away from what you are accustomed to eating.
Plus its usually paired with beer. They have craft beers and then local brews. You can even get one of the Korean Brews out of a measuring cup!
A Chance Encounter
As I was savoring each delicious bite, I kept noticing a group of people walking back and forth trying to decide where to eat lunch.
They seemed interested in Daily Beer Seoul but didn’t want to sit in the sun. I moved over and invited them to sit next to me. After a moment of hesitation, they decided to settle at the table next to mine.
One of them caught sight of my Taylor Swift Eras Tour shirt, and at that time she had only toured the US so it sparked a LOT of conversation. The group was from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, in Seoul for a business conference and clearly starving.
They joked about my half-eaten plate of chicken, asking if there were any leftovers.
Being the generous traveler that I am (and the fact that they were fellow Swifties), I offered them the rest while they waited for their order.
It was a reminder that even on the other side of the world, food and music have the incredible power to connect people. I left with new friends around Asia and a fun story to tell!
What to Expect at Daily Beer Seoul
Before the main meal: When you visit Daily Beer, you will also be served kkakdugi (spicy radish cubes) and other Korean staples that enhance your meal. I didn’t think they were that spicy but everyone is different.
Also note: if you want water, you need to get up and get it yourself. You can obviously ask, but if you want to look like a pro/local, get up and walk to where you see a water machine (usually inside by the register)
Explore Seoul’s Food Scene with a Local Guide
If you are a foodie like me and want a deep dive into the food scene, take a food tour with a local guide. They are a great resource to ask for local restaurants and also activities that you may not have thought about.
If you are lucky they will take you to spots that even some locals don’t know about.
A guided tour is a great way to eat your way through the city more authentically, meet new people and hopefully have a list of places to eat and visit the rest of your trip, and perhaps a few friends to go with!

Daily Beer Seoul is certainly not bougie, its laid back, fun, and has delicious beer and great friend chicken. It is a great place to meet locals and you never know who you will run into. I mean you are in Korea, how can you not eat Korean Fried Chicken!
